Aviator Madness Sets the Stage for a Slam-Dunk Season

NEWPORT (Ark.) –  The Newport community was treated to an unforgettable evening of basketball excitement at the Newport High School Fieldhouse during the Aviator Madness Event. Organized by the Aviator basketball team and the Newport community, this event marked Newport's first opportunity to witness the new Aviator basketball team in action.

Head coach Logan Nutt, with his characteristic enthusiasm, introduced the players, setting the stage for an evening of thrilling basketball action. The highlight of the evening was the slam dunk contest, where the players showcased their aerial skills and athleticism. The crowd was on their feet as Jarquavious Cain (#1) soared to victory, earning the title of Slam Dunk Champion.

Following the slam dunk contest, the team split up for the first half of a scrimmage game between teammates. It was an excellent opportunity for the players to display their teamwork, skills, and strategies. The intensity on the court was palpable, and the fans were treated to an exciting game.

In the midst of the action, the three-point competition added an extra layer of excitement. Caleb Ross (#15) proved his sharpshooting skills by emerging victorious in the competition, thrilling the crowd with his precision and accuracy from beyond the arc.

After a brief intermission, the team returned to the court to play the second half of the scrimmage game. The players demonstrated their commitment and dedication to the game, leaving the fans eagerly anticipating the upcoming season.

As the Aviator Madness Event drew to a close, the community came together to celebrate this special occasion. Fans and supporters had the opportunity to meet the players, take photos, and even get autographs from their favorite Aviator team members. It was a fitting end to an evening filled with excitement and anticipation for the upcoming basketball season.
